Recognizing that most federal cases are resolved by plea agreement, the firm places great emphasis on pre-indictment investigations in order to gather beneficial information with which to reduce or eliminate forthcoming charges. At the same time, this effort allows for trial preparation where required.
Avoiding public exposure, licensing issues such as professional censure or suspension, are issues of important consideration to which we pay particular attention during this pre-indictment period for the client’s wellbeing, both financially and personally.
For nearly 50 years’ Michael J. Rosen has devoted his career to challenging the government’s allegations in federal criminal cases across the county.
Michael Rosen graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1974. His federal trial experience began immediately while serving as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in South Florida.
Michael Rosen joined his father, E. David Rosen, in private practice for 25 years. Together with his brother, Larry, the Rosen law firm was engaged in some of the country’s most important and high-profile criminal cases and trials.
Michael Rosen was privileged to have his son, Jason E. Rosen, join the firm for several years after his career in banking and securities. Today, Jason is a partner in the European based law firm of Ontier, with offices in Miami.
Michael Rosen has also been an adjunct professor for many years at the University of Miami School of Law, teaching courses in Advanced Federal Criminal Procedure and RICO.
He has also been a featured speaker at international, judicial, and criminal law conferences.
Michael Rosen places great emphasis on corporate internal review and compliance programs designed as preventative measures, enabling his corporate clients to stay current and compliant with ever- changing business legislation, as well as resolving any on-going corporate criminal inquiry at an early stage.
Being ready, willing, and able to try a federal criminal case leads to two results:
1. Presenting the client with the best possible trial defense OR
2. Successful pre-trial resolution
Understanding that trials are costly, time-consuming and anxiety- inducing. “If you really work a case hard in advance of trial, you will put the government in a position where they will either dismiss the charges or make your client an extremely good offer. Short of that, you go to trial and win.”
“Ultimately, trial preparation and defense is what we do.” – Michael J. Rosen.
